At CustomEyes, we believe strongly in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need. Â Outreach programs represent an opportunity to show the community the level of commitment our optometrists have to their community. The staff also plays an important role in community outreach, and Dr. Luebbe, Dr. Enevoldsen and Dr. Cossette participate in the AOA's Infant See program on an ongoing basis.
Community Initiatives 2017
On October 21, 2017, a number of Custom Eyes Staff Members proudly attended the Hillcrest Transitional Housing Gala and Auction. We happily were able to donate $700 that evening to this wonderful and important cause.  See below where Ashley, Tanya, Morgan, and Blue are seen showing off the prizes they won after contributing to the silent auction.
One of the staff said about the Gala: This was the 1st year I attended the Hillcrest Gala & I honestly didn't know what to expect. But I can tell you it's an experience I'll never forget. Listening to Cotton and seeing how emotional he got when he spoke about the things Hillcrest has accomplished for those in need was so moving. Then being able to hear it from a graduate themselves who went through the program was just heartwarming. The silent auction was a lot of fun and the live auction was entertaining.
And, of course, we are again, active benefactors to the Guess the Grape Event for the Kansas City Fre Eye Clinic.  This organization is very close to our collective hearts and we feel blessed to have donated $1,000 to assist with their efforts in October.
 Community Initiatives 2016
Kansas City Free Eye Clinic Fundraising Event
Dr. Chris Cossette, his fiancé Leilani, Dr. Scott Drake and Dr. Linda Drake attended a charity event for the Kansas City Free Eye Clinic on November 4th in downtown Kansas City. We participated in this event through our donations to attend, purchasing raffle tickets, and buying auction items. This event raised over $30,000.00 for the clinic!
We are looking forward to participating in a tour of the Kansas City Free Eye Clinic in December, and we plan to volunteer our time to see patients at the clinic during 2017.
Hillcrest Housing Annual Gala
For the second year we attended the annual gala at Hillcrest Housing, an outstanding  organization in our community that provides temporary housing and training for homeless families to get back on their feet and support themselves. We had a wonderful time at dinner, and participated in a silent and live auction, as well as various opportunities to donate during the event. We have provided vision and eye health care at no charge to the families in the past, and plan to continue this volunteer service.
Employees from Custom Eyes show off their winnings from the October 13th Hillcrest Housing Gala silent auction! The theme 'Heroes Among Us' had them dress up as the Power Puff Girls!
A great time was had raising money for a great cause!
